Lectotype (designated here):— BOLIVIA. Puna Patanca , 1904, Fiebrig 2622 (G00359843!; isolectotypes GH00075415!, K000529601!, LD1690974 !).
Protologue:—“ Bolivia australis: Puna Patanca (Fiebrig n.2662, leg. 1903/4)”.

Notes:—Original material of Azorella columnaris View in CoL was found in several herbaria that coincide with the protologue in the morphological description, locality, collector and date. The collection number in the protologue is 2662 whereas the labels in the specimens show number 2622, which we consider an error in the protologue to be corrected. From all duplicates, we designate G00359843 as the lectotype because it is the best preserved and with more material.
