Lectotype (designated here):— CHILE. Entre Choicas y Tinguiririca, 3500 m, Albert s.n. ( SGO000003643 !; isolectotype SGO000003642 !).
Protologue:—“Habitat in Andibus inter Choicas et Tinguiririca. Frid. Albert 1891 in altit. c. 3500 mm.”.

Notes:—We found two specimens that correspond to original material, duplicates of the same gathering. Because both were likely used by Philippi to describe the new species, it is necessary to select a lectotype. We designate SGO000003643 as the lectotype because it is best preserved.
