Diagnosis. Body brown; antennal segment III yellow, basal neck of segment IV paler; extreme apices of fore femora yellowish; tibiae brownish at middle. Head a little longer than wide, distinctly reticulate, but middorsum to anterior portion asperate with numerous small tubercles; antennal segments VII and VIII closely joined; segments III and IV with two (1 + 1) and four (2 + 2) sensoria, respectively. Pronotum distinctly reticulate, with small tubercles along lines, with 38 short setae in holotype; basantra present, but weak; fore tarsus unarmed at least in female; mesonotum with small dentate microtrichia or tubercles along weak transverse lines; metanotum reticulate, anterior half with 9 short setae in holotype. S1 setae on tergite IX much shorter than half the length of tube; S2 setae on tergite IX expanded in female; tube 0.62 times as long as head in female; anal setae longer than tube. Male unknown.
This species was described based on a unique holotype female collected from Obi Island, Indonesia, and belongs to the moundi group. It may be relared to two newly described species, apoensis from Mindanao Island, the Philippines, and reticulatus from West Malaysia.
