Peña ( MEUC) ; Aysén: 1♀, Chile Chico , Aysén, 31.XII.1960, Leg. L.E. Peña, Leg. Marnef ( Dušek & Láska 1985) ; Magallanes: 1♀, Parque Nacional Torres del Paine , Laguna Azul, 1.3.198 6, Leg. F. World distribution. Chile.

Chilean distribution. From Coquimbo to Magallanes region ( Fig. 175 View FIGURE 175 ).

Altitudinal range. From inland valleys to precordillera ecosystems (300– 1,800 m.a.s.l.).

Biology and notes. This flower fly species has been recently observed visiting flowers of M. domestica orchards (Joaquín Sepúlveda pers. obs.). Other basic aspects of its biology and ecology remain unknown.

Conservation status. EN under B2ab (iii) using AOO = 16 km 2 and four localities (or subpopulations); EOO = 99,384 km 2.
