Colonies epiphyllous, sub-dense, up to 2 mm in diameter. Hyphae flexuous to wavy, branching opposite at wide angles, closely to loosely reticulate; cells 20–30.5 × 5.5–7.5 µm. Appressoria alternate, lateral, antrorse, curved to straight, 15– 23 × 13–16.5 µm; stalk cells cuneate to cylindrical, 3.5–6 µm long; head cells ovate, globose to cylindrical, entire to angular, 11–17 × 13–16.5 µm. Phialides numerous, borne on a separate mycelial branch rarely mixed with appressoria, opposite to alternate, ampulliform, 15–23 × 7.5–9.5 µm. Perithecia few, scattered, up to 90 µm in diameter; ascospores cylindrical 4-septate, slightly constricted at septa, 30–34 × 9–16 µm.

Material examined:— INDIA. Maharashtra:Kharepatan,Sindhudurg, on living leaves of Leea indica ,16°55’61.5” N, 73°62’83.7” E, 108 m, 6 December 2021, Pratik Dilip Natekar-5065, AMH-10597.

Known distribution:— Philippines and India.

Notes:— Asteridiella leeicola was previously only recorded on Leea sp. from Philippines ( Hansford 1961). Based on the literature ( Hansford 1961, Hosagoudar 1996, Hosagoudar & Agarwal 2008) the present collection on Leea indica is a new host record and this taxon is reported from India for the first time.
