Lectotype (designated here):— BRAZIL. Mato Grosso: Cataqui-iamani Campo dos Hrujas, December 1918 (fl., fr.), J. G. Kuhlmann 1963 ( SP No. 9505 barcode SP000414 !, isolectotypes R No. 13909 barcode 000013909!, RB No. 8721 barcode RB00534385 !; the image of the lectotype is available at http://plants.jstor.org/stable/viewer/10.5555/al.ap. specimen.sp000414).

Nomenclatural notes:— Hoehne (1925) mentioned that a duplicate of the original material was sent to the RB herbarium, but he did not designate the holotype. The remaining two duplicates from the “Rondon Commission” were deposited in R and SP. We designate here as lectotype the specimen deposited at RB, as it exhibits all the vegetative and floral diagnostic traits of the species, and because it was studied by Hoehne.
