Diagnosis. Ariadna arthuri is similar to A. obscura , A. tarsalis , A. multispinosa , A. reginae n. sp. and A. aurea n. sp. due to the morphology of the male metatarsi I ( Figs 16C‒E View FIGURE 16 , 32C‒E View FIGURE 32 , 38C‒E View FIGURE38 , 54C‒E View FIGURE54 , 56C‒E View FIGURE 56 ) and macrosetae pattern of the tibia I‒II of females, but differ by the presence of males with a sinuous metatarsi I, with two apophyses on the distal region, bearing thickened macrosetae ( Fig. 38C‒E View FIGURE38 ); females differ by the presence of the anterior receptaculum with a sinuous dorsal lobe and a expanded ventral lobe, mainly at the base ( Fig. 39C‒D View FIGURE39 ).
