Figs 16–17 View FIGURES 16 – 19. 16 – 17

Nilus amazonicus Simon 1898b: 17 (description of juvenile; holotype, immature female, Brazil, Teffe, de Mathan leg., MNHN 2598, examined).

PS 5.2, OL 5.9; chelicerae with 3 promarginal and 3 retromarginal teeth. Based on the distribution of Nilus View in CoL , it is doubtful that this species belongs in Nilus View in CoL . Previously, the immature female could not be assigned to an existing genus. Santos (in litt.) stated that it could be a representative of the genera Architis Simon 1898 View in CoL or Thaumasia Perty 1833 View in CoL . Cruz da Silva (in litt.) clearly recognised it as member of Architis View in CoL . Most striking feature is the elongated opisthosoma with the distinct folium pattern ( Figs 16–17 View FIGURES 16 – 19. 16 – 17 ).
