TL: India, Assam, Shillong [now in Meghalaya] ( termias ); India, Kumaon, Muktesar ( sarcostega ); Nepal, Prov. No. 3 East, Bujan, Dudh Kosi (argutus); Burma [= Myanmar], Kambaiti Pass (stenoptycha).
Distribution: India (Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand); Bhutan; China; Malaysia; Myanmar; Nepal; Pakistan; Vietnam ( Diakonoff 1951, 1971, 1976; Nedoshivina 2013).
Hosts: This species is a serious local pest of Malus sp. ( Rosaceae ) in India; it has been reared in September from larvae boring in fruits. Larvae are polyphagus on fruit trees and other plants, including Acacia nilotica (Fabaceae) , Cydonia oblonga , Malus pumila , Prunus persica (Rosaceae) , Coffea liberica (Rubiaceae) , and Citrus (Rutaceae) ( Meyrick 1920, 1936; Flecther 1932; Janjua 1940; Mathur et al. 1958; Verma 1988; Bhardwaj & Chandler 1993; Bhagat et al. 1994; Sharma et al. 2005).
