Terrestrial. Stem erect. Cataphylls and prophylls brown, with a marcescent base and entire apex. Petiole 11.5–46.7 cm long, green or green with vinaceous shades, abaxially obtuse, adaxially 1-ribbed, geniculum 0.5 cm long. Leafblade: 12.0–30.2 × 5.4–15.6 cm, green, strongly discolorous, erect to the petiole, chartaceous to coriaceous, ovate, with a flat surface, apex acute, base cordate, absence of glandular dots. Midrib, prominent on both sides, adaxially acute, abaxially obtuse, primary lateral veins engraved adaxially, abaxially prominent, 9–10 on both sides, secondary and tertiary veins reticulate, basal veins 0–1, collective vein 0.5 cm distant from the margin. Inflorescence. Peduncle 22.5–40.6 cm long, red at the base, greenish at the apex, terete. Spathe 2.8–8.8 × 0.5–1.35 cm, pink, dark brown when dry, reflexed at anthesis, lanceolate. Spadix 5.7–14.5 cm long, homogeneous, yellow to orange at anthesis, grayish after anthesis, cylindrical, stipe 1.8–2.0 cm long, bisexual flowers, brown pollen grain, main spiral with 4–5 flowers; alternate spiral with 6–7 flowers, unripe berries with a green apex, green to brown, 2 seeds.

Distribution: — Anthurium lucioi is endemic to Brazil, occurring in Minas Gerais and São Paulo ( Flora do Brasil 2020). It was found at the Tilha do Carvão (central PESB) and Itajuru (Southern PESB) trails.

Ecology and phenology: —According to Coelho et al. (2009) it flowers in January, June to September, and November, with berries in June. In the PESB, it was found with flowers in February and November.

Taxonomic notes: —Differs from other Anthurium species found in the PESB by its leaf blade with a cordate base, the spadix yellow to orange and a larger stipe compared to other species.
