Measurement. BL= 3.13–3.20 mm; FBL= 1.62–1.70 mm; HL= 0.41–0.50 mm; HWE= 0.67–0.75 mm; HWT= 0.59–0.75 mm; EL= 0.15–0.20 mm; TL= 0.20–0.30 mm; ETR= 0.63–0.70; PNL= 0.43–0.50 mm; PNW= 0.71–0.75 mm; PNR= 0.60–0.66; ABDW= 0.75–0.76 mm.
Description. Body yellow-brown, head and elytra dark, shining, forebody with small punctures.
Male: Head (Fig. 5–1C) near rectangular, slightly broader than pronotum. Clypeus convex, glabrous, anterior martin curved forward. Epistomal suture with lateral portions running backward to level of anterior margin of eyes. Front of head bordered by fine ridge. Post-ocular furrow marked, reach to base of head. Disc depressed at interior
half part, glabrous, with dense and big punctures at base, sides with dense orderly diagonal furrows, with deep sulcus in middle and shallower depression on each side. Temples dilated, with big punctures, about 1.5 times as long as eyes. Eyes big. Occipital furrow complete and curved forward. Antenna filiform, VI-X with basal ridges.
Pronotum (Fig. 5–1C) trapezoidal, broadest at near anterior 1/3, convex in middle, with less big punctures. Mid-longitudinal sulcus straight and deep, with two shallower and broader paramedial sulci and two para-lateral depressions close to lateral margins. Posterior angles obtuse but distinguishable. Sides running continuously. Elytra with dense punctures and longitudinal furrows. Abdomen without puncture.
Sternite VII (Fig. 5–1E, 5–2E) with posterior margin straight or weakly emarginate and carrying long setae laterally, with two tubercles in middle; Sternite VIII (Fig. 5–1F, 5–2F) with posterior margin broadly bi-emariginate and carrying long setae laterally, obtused angulate in the middle, not beyond lateral angles posteriorly.
Aedeagus (Figs. 5–1I–M, 52A–C) oval, inflated at base and shortly narrowing to apex; apical orifice large and ventral orifice crescentic. Parameres (Figs 5–1N, 5–2I) arm-like, flat, closely situated, much broader and contorted at middle 1/3 part, penicillate at apex, with large seta at middle of ventral edge on each piece.
Female. Head (Fig. 5–1D) narrower than pronotum (Fig. 5–1D). Temples not dilated, as long as eyes. Head and pronotum with much coarser and bigger punctures. Sternite VII (Figs 5–1G, 5–2G) with posterior margin emariginate and unmodified. Sternite VIII (Figs 5–1H, 5–2H) with posterior margin produced, broadly and obtusely triangular. Spermatheca (Figs 5–1O, 5–2J) with base bulb-like, with apical part clavate and slightly curved.
Distribution: China (Sichuan).
Etymology. The specific epithet derived from two Latin words, scaber and frons, to indicate the coarsely sculptured front of the head.
Differential diagnosis. This new species can be distinguished by the following characters: head with dense orderly furrows at sides; pronotum with posterior angles distinguishable; paramere much broader and contorted at middle 1/3 part; structure and relative position of internal sac selerites (Fig. 5–2C–D).
