8. Anarsia porthmista Park View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Figs. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 21 , 29, 29 View FIGURES 22 – 40 a, 48, 48a, 62)
Holotype: ♂, CAMBODIA, Seima, 2 vii 2011, YD Ju, BH Aya, HJ Lee, 12o11′45″ N 107o00′ 16″E, gen slide no. CIS-6461; Paratype: 2 ♂, 1♀, same data as the holotype.
Diagnosis. This new species is superficially similar to Anarsia diversiola sp. nov., but it can be distinguished by the hindwing with the anterior broad expansion abruptly truncate near middle, whereas the expansion is abruptly truncate beyond 3/ 5 in A. diversiola . It can also be distinguished by the male genital characters: left valva more or less slender, broad at base, and narrow in the middle, with concave dorsal margin, whereas the left valva is semiovate and gradually narrowed towards apex in A. diversiola .
Description. Adult: Male ( Figs. 8 View FIGURES 1 – 21 , 29 View FIGURES 22 – 40 ). Wingspan, 10.0 mm. Color pattern of head, antenna, and thorax not distinguishable from those of A. diversiola sp. nov., grayish white, speckled with pale grayish orange scales dorsally. Second segment of labial palpus in male ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 22 – 40 ) subtriangular, with a long scale tuft antero-ventrally; dark brown on outer surface with pale grayish white scales along dorsal surface, and creamy to orange white on inner surface; third segment reduced. In female ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 22 – 40 a), third segment slender, longer than 2nd, with two broad, dark brown band medially. Forewing elongate; ground color and markings similar to those of the preceding species, A. diversiola sp. nov. Hindwing grayish, with anterior expansion on costa gradually oblique from near middle, while it is extended to 3/5 and abruptly truncated in A. diversiola ; venation of both wings also similar to those of A. diversiola .
Male genitalia ( Figs. 48, 48 View FIGURES 48 – 51 a a): Uncus slender, slightly bent downward before apex; Socius narrow in basal half, with round expansion latero-distally. Tegumen broad at base and slightly convex medially. Left valva broad at base, narrow in middle part with concave dorsal margin; sclerotized basal process strongly curved at middle; zone of palmately modified scales small in distal end; right valva broad basally, narrower towards apex; patch of palmately modified scales similar to that of left valva. Phallus shorter than 1/2 the length of left valva, strongly bent at basal 1/4, then tapered.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 62 View FIGURES 60 – 66 ). Apophyses posteriores as long as papillae anales. Apophyses anteriores very short, about 1/4 the length of apophyses posteriores. Ostium bursae funnel-shaped, deeply concave on caudal margin; antrum weakly sclerotized. Ductus bursae narrow, shorter than corpus bursae. Corpus bursae very large, densely spinous on inner surface; signum forming a transverse, broad band, about 1/2 width of corpus bursae.
Distribution. Cambodia (Seima).
Etymology. The species name is derived from the Greek, porthmi (= a narrow passage) with a Greek superlative ending, ista, denoting the narrowed left valva medially.
