59. Amphora bigibba var. interrupta (Grunow) Cleve ( Figs 121, 122 View FIGURES 121–134 )
Basionym: Amphora binodis var. interrupta Grunow.
Type locality: Campeche Bank .
References: Witkowski et al. 2000, p. 131, pl. 163, figs 27–30; Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007, p. 414, figs 84, 95.
Morphometrics: Valves 28–40 (20–46) μm long, 5–6 (5–7) μm wide, and transapical striae 20–22 (21–25) in 10 μm.
Remarks: No transapical striae exist on valve in the middle dorsally. Amphora bigibba var. interrupta is widespread along the coasts of warmer oceans ( Witkowski et al. 2000), the Florida Bay ( Wachnicka & Gaiser 2007), the Bahamas ( Hein et al. 2008), the coast of Thailand ( Kokociński et al. 2009), and the coast of Baja California Peninsula of Mexico ( Siqueiros-Beltrones & Argumedo-Hernández 2015). This taxon is also a subtropical taxon found in the warmer oceans as the nominate variety, Amphora bigibba . It was rarely epiphytic along the Seogwipo coast in Jeju Island, and represents a new record for South Korea.
