Type material: Male from New York, Bronx , Van Cortland Park, W73.53:N40.53, 12 April, 1964, Jean and Wilton Ivie ( AMNH). EXAMINED.
Etymology: The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality, Bronx , New York, USA.
Diagnosis: Males are distinguised from all species by their large double triangular-shaped dorsal cymbial tubercle ( Fig. 433 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ), from A. llanoensis by the long, sinuous lamella characteristica ( Fig. 432 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ), short in the latter ( Fig. 425 View FIGURES 425 – 431 ). Females are diagnosed from all Agyneta by their by the diverging copulatory ducts visible on the proximal part of scape ( Fig. 436 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ), from a A. llanoensis , see diagnosis of the latter.
Description: Male: Total length 1.85; carapace length 0.88, width 0.76.
CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace light yellow, shiny, finely reticulate. Sternum light yellow, slightly suffused with dark gray. Clypeus height 3. Chelicerae light orange, not excavated; seta-tipped tubercles absent; promargin five teeth, retromargin four denticles, retromargin with triangular projection near base of fang. Cheliceral stridulatory organ ~52 strong striae, well spaced, getting closer basally. ABDOMEN: Uniformly offwhite. LEGS: Light yellow; leg I total length: 4.18; leg III total length: 2.32; Tm I: 0.23, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal retrolateral tibial apophysis large, pointed, rugose; dorsal tibial apophysis rugose; two retrolateral trichobothria and one dorsal ( Fig. 432 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Cymbium triangular; glabrous depression present ( Fig. 432 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ); dorsal cymbial tubercle with two triangular tips, rugose; ventral tubercle, rounded and striated; prolateral notch deep ( Fig. 433 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Paracymbium apical pocket long, anterior pocket long and curved making a small cover, posterior pocket medium ( Fig. 432 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Embolus tip wide, no retrolateral extension; basally with row of spines; ventrally with numerous small spines; Fickert’s gland globulous situated medially; ventral lamella reduced or absent; thumb going slightly over the embolus proper ( Fig. 434 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Embolus proper set apically, dorsal part wider, not serrated with associated large dentate prong ( Fig. 434 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Anterior terminal apophysis wide with numerous, long protrusions and one large spike basally; posterior terminal apophysis short with three spines; lamella characteristica large and elaborate ( Fig. 435 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ).
Female: Total length 1.99; carapace length 0.83, width 0.41.

CEPHALOTHORAX: Same coloration as male. Chelicerae yellow; promargin five teeth, retromargin four denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ ~37 striae, well spaced getting closer basally. ABDOMEN: Same as male. LEGS: Same as male; palpal claw absent; leg I total length: 4.23; leg III total length: 3.10; Tm I: 0.25, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Epigynum with wide proximal part of scape, slightly enlarging in a plate; epigynal slits elongated, oval; pit hook depression small ( Fig. 436 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ); lateral lobes broad and short; stretcher medium; pit deep ( Fig. 438 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Median part of scape short and wide; genital pores situated at base of lateral lobes pockets ( Fig. 438 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ). Internal genitalia with ventral comma-shaped receptacula and a large oval dorsal receptacula ( Figs 437, 438 View FIGURES 432 – 438 ).
