Agriotes roznerorum sp. n.
(Figs 28–29, 84)
Material examined. Holotype, male: Syria: “ SYRIA, prov. Idlib 25 km SW Ariha 2 km S Al Barah 626 m, No. 0 29 31.V–02.VI. 2007, leg. I. et Gy. Rozner” HNHM).
Diagnosis. This species belongs to the A. nuceus group near to A. informis Kraatz, 1891 ( Platia & Gudenzi 1997) for the general shape and the short antennae. It can be separated by the smaller size, the second and third antennomeres being subequal in length and by the shape of the male genitalia.
Description. Male (Fig. 28). Entirely dark-brown with undefined blackish shadings on head and sides of body; covered with dense, recumbent, yellowish pubescence.
Frons moderately convex between eyes, flat at anterior margin, supra-antennal carinae reaching anterior margin; punctures coarse, umbilicate, contiguous.
Antennae (Fig. 29) slightly exceeding posterior angles of pronotum, serrated from fourth antennomere on, second and third antennomeres subconical, subequal in length, taken together, a little longer than fourth; fourth longer than following, fourth to tenth on average less than twice longer than wide, last longer than penultimate, symmetrically constricted at apical third.
Pronotum 1.09× wider than long, widest at posterior angles, very convex with short and shallow midlongitudinal depression on basal slope, sides subparallel at middle, slightly dilated at anterior third, sinuate before posterior angles, latter truncate, divergent, shortly carinate, lateral margins fine and complete; puncturation coarse, rather uniformly distributed, punctures on disk umbilicate with very short intervals or contiguous, gradually denser toward sides and contiguous.
Scutellum shield-shaped, 1.4× longer than wide, ridged at base, flat, coarsely punctured.
Elytra 2.8× longer and slightly wider than pronotum, convex; sides widest at middle, regularly converging toward apex; striae marked, distinctly punctured; interstriae densely punctured, with wrinkled surface.
Aedeagus as in Fig. 84 (length 1.62 mm).
Female unknown.
Size. Length 12.7 mm; width 3.87 mm.
Etymology. This species is dedicated to the collectors of the type specimen, son and father, György Rozner (Nature Conservation Engineer Assistant, Balatonkeresztúr) and István Rozner (private coleopterist, Budapest)
