Description based on the specimen IRAN 14419 F.

Macroscopic description: –– According to Asef (2014): “Pileus 50–100 mm diam., convex to broadly flat, slightly plane with age, surface dry, whitish color, densely covered with brownish fibers and scales especially towards the center. Lamellae free, crowded, pink, eventually becoming brown. Stipe 60–100 × 10–12 mm, more or less equal or with bulbous base, fairly smooth, white, bruising yellow, especially at the base, with a persistent membranous annulus, covered in conspicuous flakes below the ring. Flesh white discoloring bright yellow in the base. Taste and odor usually not distinctive or somewhat unpleasant” ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ).

Microscopic description:––Basidiospores 4.5–5.7 × 3.3–4.1 μm, [5.32 ± 0.28 × 3.66 ± 0.22, Q=1.15–1.67, m=1.42 ± 0.12, n=30] μm, broadly elliptical; smooth. Basidia 11.8–16.1 × 5.5–6.9 μm, 4-spored, clavate. Cheilocystidia not very numerous, clavate, pyriform, someone pedunculate, usually simple, hyaline, smooth, 12.3–20.80 × 6.2–12 μm. Pileipellis a cutis composed of hyphae of 7.9–12.9 μm diam., cylindrical, slightly constricted at the septa ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ).
