Redescription. syntype ♀ and new records listed below: Length: 1.3–2.3 mm. Head very dark reddish-black, remainder of dorsum and venter uniformly pale orange. Legs yellowish. Head subopaque dorsally, with large and strongly prominent compound eyes occupying whole head sides and extending towards the base, not leaving visible tempora. Interfacetal setae long, inconspicuous. Head base slightly concave in dorsal view. Frons broad. Punctures of frons elongate, incision-like, deep, intervening spaces twice as large as punctures. Antennomere 2 bead-shaped, antennomere 3 conical, both short, antennomere 5–10 thick, transverse, shortened and slightly widened distally. Terminal antennomere elongate conical, pointed, about 3x as long as penultimate antennomere. Pronotum pentagonal, with sides divergent from base to anterolateral angles, then convergent anteriorly, broadly rounded on anterior margin, with obtuse angulate anterolateral angles. Pronotum widest across anterolateral angles, slightly narrower than head, short and broad, subopaque dorsally. Vague transverse postmedian impression present on pronotal disc. Punctures of pronotal disc larger than those on head, ovoid to elongate-ovoid, rather deep, intervening spaces as large as to slightly larger as punctures. Pronotal setae whitish, short, appressed. Elytra subopaque dorsally, largely oval with a moderately strongly defined postbasal transverse impression and a progressive declivity in lateral view, almost until the apical margin where the declivity becomes stronger, abrupt. Dorsal punctures of elytra large, ovoid, subannular, intervening spaces larger than punctures. Elytral pubescence double, consists of whitish setae arising from one each puncture and interspersed rather long and suberect tactile setae arising from the intervening spaces. Legs inconspicuous.
Distribution. Endemic to Cabo Verde, appears on both the Northern (São Nicolau) and the Southern (São Tiago) chain.
