Material examined. 6 females, from Coprosma propinqua (Rubiaceae) , Birdlings Flat, Mid-Canterbury, New Zealand, 17 November 1999, coll. N.A. Martin. Specimens deposited in NZAC.
Host. Coprosma propinqua (Rubiaceae) .
Relation to host. Witches broom.
Distribution. Dunedin, Mid-Canterbury (Birdlings Flat).
Additional Coprosma propinqua bushes with typical witches broom were collected and deposited in NZAC by N.A. Martin: Coopers Creek , Oxford Forest, Mid-Canterbury, New Zealand, January 18, 2004 ; Lake Pearson , Mid-Canterbury, New Zealand, May 11, 2005 .
Remarks. Amrine (1996) and Amrine et al. (2003) assigned Pedaculops as a synonym of Aculops . Manson (1984a) distinguished Pedaculops from Aculops mainly by the second rays of empodium arise direct from the tarsus rather than from the main stem.
