        <spm:hasContent> Note. Lindroth (1966: 524) stated that the taxonomic status of this taxon as a distinct species from  Pterostichus brevicornisKirby is questionable. Ball (1966a: 123) evoked the fact that the taxon may be regarded as a "parthenogenetic race" of  Pterostichus brevicornis. Both authors concluded that this taxon is parthenogenetic since, as far as known, no males have been found to date that could be associated with it. This is also the case for the Asian specimens studied by Eremin (1998).</spm:hasContent>
