        <spm:hasContent> Notes. This species is restricted to Montagne d'Ambreand tsingy habitats in the Ankarana Special Reserve. It has somewhat anisophyllous terminal leaves like  C. thouarsianus, but the calyx of the pistillate flowers is much larger and more accrescent in fruit, with a long pedicel. Plants vary considerably in pubescence, with some hirsute stems in the type of  C. thouarsianusvar. macrocalyx. Quoting from Radcliffe-Smith (2016), "The admittedly rather cumbersome name, of 10 syllables &amp; 24 letters, can be justified on the grounds of the distinctive minute ogivaliform marginal glands to be found on the otherwise entire leaf-margins of this species. The name is not occupied in the genus." No surprise there!</spm:hasContent>
