<spm:hasContent> The protologue of  Myrcia atramentiferaillustrates a longitudinal section of an open flower, a petal, an anther, a cross sectional of the ovary (showing four ovules) and a pollen grain. These elements are not enough to recognize a species inside  Myrciaand along with the absence of typespecimen leave  M. atramentiferaas an incompletely known taxon. The pilose floral disk and the hypanthium not prolonged beyond the ovary suggest affinity with  Myrciasect. Myrcia.</spm:hasContent>
