Dieamerikanischen Spinnerund Schwärmer6: 1205, fig. 173f (female d); 1 female[holo] type, Brazil, [MSFR].  Taxonomic history.  Siculodes nubeculawas described with an illustration of the male. Guenée (1877)noted that the species occurs in Rio de Janeiro[ Brazil] and that the specimen was deposited in his personal collection, and also that the species must be the typespecies of the genus  Iza. Druce (1895) also referred to  I. nubeculaas the typespecies of the genus.    Rhodoneura configuratawas described and illustrated based on a female [holo] type; synonymized with  I. nubeculaby Whalley & Heppner (1995).   Type material.  Iza nubecula: Guenée (1858)was described based on the male, but without specifying the number of specimens. Whalley (1964)mistakenly stated that the holotypeis a female when in fact the syntypeis a male deposited in the NHMUK. This syntypewas found in the collection referred to by Whalley (1964)and includes the author’s original labels that correspond to the published description. To give stability to the proposed name and ensure the correct identification of the species, this syntypeis herein designatedas a lectotype, with the following labels: / Holotype/ Type/ 4.
