Synonymy established by Lindroth (1961a: 157).  Distribution. This species is found from Prince Edward Island (Larochelle and Lariviere1990a: 27) to south-central British Columbia (Lindroth 1961a: 157), south to eastern Washington (Hatch 1953: 68, as  Dyschirius alternatus), northern Utah (Utah County, USNM), Oklahoma (Custer and Latimer Counties, CMNH, UASM), and Long Island in New York (MCZ). Seemingly isolated at Fairbanks, Alaska (Lindroth 1961a: 157).
