Some 28 years later, Berg (1856), transferred  P. pubescensto the genus  Campomanesiaas  Campomanesia pubescens(Martius ex De Candolle) O. Berg. Landrum (1986), in the revision of the genus  Campomanesia, includes  Psidium hiansas a synonym of  Campomanesia pubescens. However, after examining images of the typespecimens of  P. hiansand  P. pubescens(  Campomanesia pubescens), we conclude that they are two completely different species as they differ both in their vegetative and reproductive parts.  Psidium hians, should, therefore, be considered an accepted name. Examining herbarium material of  P. hiansand  P. nutans, we observed that these two do not have vegetative and reproductive morphological differences.
