Geoffroy, 1810)   Syntype(marked with type *): ZMB 3278, skin and skull, male, adult; Villa Maria, Mato Grosso, Brazil; collected by J. Natterer, ex NMW. Comment: Peters (1866: 398)altered the generic allocation:  Tylostoma longifolium Peters, 1866. The typeof  Phyllostoma( Tylostoma) longifoliumis according to Dobson (1878: 490)“preserved in the ViennaMuseum”, however Natterer collected two specimens( Pelzeln 1883: 31), a female (presently NMW 62898, B. Herzig pers. comm.), and a male, which probably came in exchange to Berlin(ZMB 3278). According to a comment in the general catalogue by Peters, ZMB 3278 is an original specimen used for the description of  Phyllostoma longifoliumWagner.
