The genetically closest species to  B. securiformis,  B. tangaroa Cosel and Marshall, 2003, is less slender, and its subspecies  B. tangaroa tuerkayi Cosel and Janssen, 2008is broader on the posterior side ( Cosel and Marshall 2003; Okutani et al. 2004; Cosel and Janssen 2008).  Fig. 2.
