Appendage consisting of a rather large basal cell III bearing crowded fertile and sterile branches ( Fig. 47C). Fertile branches slender, including intercalary antheridia. Cell VI inflated. Perithecium showing a shaded preapical region with a dark spot on the posterior side ( Fig. 47C, arrow).
