        <spm:hasContent> Distribution:— India[ Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Tamil Nadu]; 1000–1500 m. Notes:— Wallich Catalogue Number 3601was not found in the major herbaria visited and  WightCatalogue Number 1070was chosen as the lectotype, given that it was cited by  Wightand Arnott (1834)in their  Prodromus Florae Peninsulae Indiae Orientalis.  Eugenia arnottianaWightis illegitimate because Wightcited the earlier name ‘ Syz. densiflorumW. &amp; A.’ as a synonym ( McNeill et al. 2012, Article 52.1), incorrectly claiming that “De Candolle’s  Jambosa densifloraclaims precedence in the name”. Walpers’ later adoption of the same epithet, based on the same name, is illegitimate for the same reason.</spm:hasContent>
