In the Balkan Peninsula, this species is known also from North-East Bulgaria( GUÉORGUIEV & GUÉORGUIEV 1995: 167). The known records of  Z. corpulentussuggest that it is form with disjunct distribution as the area between eastern Stara Planina and Istanbul City is uninhabitable. Since the subspecies status of the Balkan populations is still not settled the data above are referred to as  Z. corpulentus s.l.
