Volvula cylindrica Gabb, 1872: 246 [non Carpenter, 1865; non E.A. Smith, 1871].
Type locality.
Dominican Republic; type stratum: uncertain [likely either Cercado or Gurabo Formations]; age: Miocene/Pliocene.
Type material.
Syntype, ANSP IP3179, 1 shell (as “type” in Richards 1968: 121).
Current taxonomic status.
Volvulella persimilis ( Mörch, 1875) ( Dall 1889, Pilsbry 1922).
