Preservation: pinned; genitalia dissected and mounted on slide pinned with the specimen.

Paratype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white label: “Sanlong / 90.6.11”; (2) printed on yellow label: “ PARATYPE ”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / papiliocerca / Identifier: Anxiao Deng ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ PARATYPE / Botanophila / papiliocerca / (Deng) ”.

Additional notes: All labels of holotype and paratypes pinned by Anxiao Deng, but the date of collection on the labels (90.6.11) do not match with the date in the original publication ( 1988.6.14, 1989.6.18).

Current name: Botanophila papiliocerca ( Deng, 1997) .
