Holotype male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ ESIII 4.3 / 76.7.4 afternoon / collector:”; (2) handwritten on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / stenocerca / sp.n.”; (3) handwritten on white label: “ Qinghai Menyuan / collector Ya Wu ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Botanophila / stenocerca / (Zheng et Fan) ”.
Preservation: mounted on paper triangle; genitalia dissected and mounted at the tip of another paper triangle below.
Current name: Botanophila stenocerca ( Zheng & Fan, 1992) .
