The holotype male was collected in January 1916 by F. Cruden at Alicedale , (33° 16' S, 26° 02' E), Cape Province GoogleMaps . For a drawing of the palp see Lehtinen (1967: 462, Fig. 470 and 471). The type is deposited in the Museum d'Histoire Naturelle, Geneva.
