Vernacular Names: San Luis Tuco-tuco.

Distribution: W Argentina, east of the Andes in San Luis and Mendoza Provs.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Pearson and Lagiglia (1992) noted that pontifex may be a synonym of maulinus .
