Seasonal record. Registered in all months except November.
Bionomic. Amazon Biome and Cerrado Biome (new record).
Remarks. This is the type species of Macrostomus , assigned to the M. ferrugineus species-group as described by Rafael & Cumming (2009). It is widely distributed in the Amazon Basin. This is the first record of this species from northeast Brazil. Macrostomus ferrugineus was collected in Carolina (February), Cândido Mendes (January to April, June and December) and Centro Novo do Maranhão (February to March, May and December).
