The species was only known from the type locality in Brazil ( Menezes et al. 2013a).

The Bolivian specimens have 5–9-septate ascospores measuring 31–55 × 5–6.5 μm and slightly differ from those of the type material in which the ascospores are consistently 7-septate and measure 37–43 × 5–7 μm according to Menezes et al. (2013a).

Specimen examined. BOLIVIA. Dept. Santa Cruz: Prov. José Miguel de Velasco, Hacienda Chirapa near Florida village, 14°33’22”S, 61°16’03”W, 200 m, lowland Amazon forest, 16 December 2009, corticolous, AF 16209, 16229 & PR (KRAM, LPB).
