Type: Neomorphaster eustichus Sladen 1889 , a synonym of Pedicellaster margaritaceus Perrier in Milne-Edwards 1882, by monotypy.
Diagnosis
Body strongly stellate (R/r=5.3) Disc small, arms elongate, gradually tapering, interradial arcs acute. Abactinal plates in regular longitudinal and transverse series with distinct carinal series, in addition to adradial plates, marginal plates and actinal series, 2 to 3 rows. Plates covered by granules or spinelets. Papulae present, 1 to 10 per papular region. Furrow spines diplacanthid.Adoral carina present, tube feet quadriserial. Pedicellariae crossed, small widely present on abactinal surface. Straight pedicellariae, present on alternate adambulacral plates. Modified from Clark & Downey (1992).
