Glyphotmethis adelia: Demirsoy 1975: 100 .
Type locality: Turkey: Sivas. Holotype: male ( ZMB).
Previous records: Werner 1905: as Eremobia escherichii: Yılanlı Daǧ, Erciyes, 1902 , 1 ♂, 4 ♀ (see Remarks); Karabaǧ 1958: as G. holtzi dimorphus : Kayseri, Develi, 26.6.1952, 1 ♀, leg. P.H. Davis (see Remarks); Demirsoy 1975: as G. inermis : Kayseri, 16.8.1968, 2 ♀; as G. adelia : Kayseri, 16.8.1968, 2 ♀, leg. A. Demirsoy (not examined).
Material examined: 82 specimens. TURKEY: Klein-Asien [Anatolia], Siras [Sivas], 7.1934 , 3 ♂, 1 ♀, leg. A. Rosenbohm (holo- and paratypes) ( ZMB). TURKEY: Sivas, Zara , 3500 ft, 5.7.1960 , 10 ♂, 6 ♀, leg. K.M. Guichard & D.H. Harvey ( NHM); Sivas, Şarkışla, Kızılcakışla , 39°18’566” K, 36°17’816” D, 28.6.2003 , 27 ♂, 10 ♀; Şarkışla, Kayadibi Köyü , 28.6.2003 , 3 ♀, leg. M. Ünal & S. Mutun (all AIBUEM); Antitaurus, Kayseri, Develi , 26.6.1952 , 1 ♀, leg. P.H. Davis; Kayseri, Sultanhanı , 1200 m, 13.6.1962 , 7 ♂, 5 ♀, leg. K.M. Guichard & D.H. Harvey ( NHM) , 1 ♂, 1 ♀ ( MNHN); Kayseri, Tuzla yolu, 24 km, 1160 m, 12.7.2001 , 1 ♀, leg. M. Ünal & S. Mutun ( AIBUEM); Anatolia, Illany-Dagh, Kaisarie [Yılanlı Daǧ, Kayseri], 1902 , 1 ♂, 4 ♀, leg. Penther ( NMW); Adana, Feke , 600 m, 5.7.1952 , 1 ♂ ( NHM) .
Diagnosis: Prozona low with distinct lobes; lateral projections of mesozona distinct; metazona narrow and long, slightly raised, lateral margins straight, hind margin narrow and rounded (Figs. 6a–d); male tegmina (Figs. 6a, c, e) very broad and long, reaching to middle part of hind tibia; distal excision of dorsal carina of hind femur distinct, its ventral carina clearly wavy; inner side of hind femur dark, pale red with an indistinct bluish macula in basal part; inner side of hind tibia dark red; male penis valves (Figs. 6g, h) stout apically, their apices strongly curved upwards in lateral view, widened in posterior view; lophi (Fig. 6i) with nearly 20 dense spines, posterior margin of epiphallus (Fig. 6i) broadly rounded.
This subspecies is different from G. dimorphus dimorphus by the lower prozona, longer and broader male tegmina, the shape of male penis valves and epiphallus, coloration of hind femur and clearly separated distribution.
Distribution: ( Fig. 17). Turkey: Sivas: Zara, Şarkışla; Kayseri: Tuzla, Develi, Sultanhanı; Adana: Feke.
Remarks: Distribution of this taxon is distinctly separated from the nominotypical subspecies. It has not been found a contact zone or an interstage population between the both subspecies.
Werner (1905) gave the localities of 1 male, 4 females and 8 nymphs as “Illany-Dagh, Soisaly, Bor-Eregli und sonst im Erdschias-Gebiet, Serai-Dagh bei Konia, Ilgün” under Eremobia escherichii . Those 1 male and 4 females collected from Illany-Dagh (Yılanlı Daǧ) were studied in the NMW and reidentified as G. dimorphus armenus . The remaining 8 nymphs were collected from the other localities given by Werner (1905). In those places the taxa of G. holtzi and G. dimorphus are distributed. Therefore the 8 nymphs probably are not belong to G. escherichi .
A part of the specimens given ( Karabaǧ 1958) under G. holtzi dimorphus are belong to this taxon (see Previous recods).
The specimens (4 females) recorded from Kayseri as G. inermis and G. adaliae ( Demirsoy 1975) are probably belong to this subspecies.
