Artbeschreibung: Bis 45 cm hoch. Stängel hohl, dünnwandig (durch leichtes Zusammendrücken feststellbar), unter dem Blütenstand mehr als 3 mm dick, mit nur 3-6 Blättern, die obersten den Blütenstand erreichend. Blätter oberseits mit oder ohne Flecken, wenigstens die unteren Tragblätter die Blüten weit überragend, grün bis dunkelrot. Blüten 15-30, meist rot, selten rosa, mit variabler dunkler Musterung.
