Comments. Platia & Ghahari (2016) listed two species in genus Conoderus Eschscholtz, 1829 . Since Conoderus is currently a synonym of Monocrepidius Eschscholtz, 1829 , we propose the following new combinations: Monocrepidius posticus ( Eschscholtz, 1822) comb. nov. (originally Elater posticus Eschscholtz, 1822: 76 ; recently in Conoderus by e.g., Cate 2007 and Platia & Ghahari 2016) and Monocrepidius productus ( Peyerimhoff, 1931) comb. nov. (originally Prodrasterius productus Peyerimhoff, 1931: 66 ; recently in Conoderus by e.g., Cate 2007 and Platia & Ghahari 2016). The latter species includes two subspecies, with only Monocrepidius productus arabicus ( Chassain, 1979) comb. nov. (originally Prodrasterius productus arabicus Chassain, 1979: 200 ) known from Iran (the monotypic subspecies is known from the northern Africa; Cate 2007).
