Type:—NOUVELLE CALÉDONIE. Crete entre Mt. Dzumac et Mt. Ouin, Forêt humide sur terrain rocheux serpentineux, 900 m, 23 février 1967, MacKee 16428 (Holotype „#196“ P 00121487!, isotypes „#196“ P 00121489!, „#19“ P 00121488!).

Note:—Previously, this species was treated as a representative of subgenus Liparis . However, leaf and pseudobulb morphology indicate without any doubt that it belongs to subgenus Menoneuron , while flower and its lip form are typical for section Genychilus .
