TYPE: Male holotype from a litter sample taken at Isla Coiba, Veraguas, Panama (Aug. 18, 1983, H. Cuadra), deposited in MIUP (PBI_ OON 37747 View Materials ) .

ETYMOLOGY: The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.
