Diplazium wolfii Hieron., Hedwigia View in CoL 47: 220, pl. 2, f. 6. 1908.
Range: —Eastern Andean slope from Ecuador to Bolivia (CO).
Ecology: —Rare, known from a single Bolivian collection: Jiménez 1639 (LPB, UC); terrestrial in humid forests, forest remnants, or wooded ravines, often on steep slopes or banks; 2250 m in Bolivia, 600–1650 m elsewhere .
Notes: —The only Bolivian collection of this species differs from Ecuadorian and Peruvian material in smaller size and less dissected blades (possibly because this is not a fully grown specimen), 2 pairs of free proximal pinnules on the lowermost pinnae, and shorter rhizome scales (1–2 mm vs. 2–4 mm). It agrees in other important characters, namely the shape of the pinnae, hairs, sori, and papillose rhizome scale margins. Furthermore, it was collected at higher elevations. More collections from Bolivia are needed to evaluate the taxonomic importance of the differences noted.
Diplazium yuyoense M.Kessler & A.R.Sm., Brittonia View in CoL 59(2): 190. 2007.

Ecology: —Rare; terrestrial along a stream in humid forest; 1000 m.
