Range:— Endemic to Bolivia ( LP) ; known only from the type collection.
Ecology:— Rare; terrestrial in rocky, burnt pastures within humid montane forests; 2950 m.
Notes:— In addition to the characters mentioned in the key, the rhizome scales are more translucent and more reddish than in Athyrium dombeyi , and the segments have broader hyaline margins.
