Type Locality: East Solomon Isls, San Cristoval (= San Cristobal) Isl, Yanuta.

Vernacular Names: Makira Leaf-nosed Bat.

Distribution: San Cristobal Isl (Solomon Isls).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.

Discussion: diadema species group. Formerly considered a subspecies of diadema , but apparently distinct; see Kitchener et al. (1992 b) and Flannery (1995 b).
