Conservation: IUCN 2003 – Not listed (lapsus); IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Dermanura . Distinct from cinereus and glaucus ; see Handley (1987), Brosset and Charles-Dominique (1990), and Simmons and Voss (1998).
