Material examined. 1 male. CHINA, Zhejiang province, Daishan county, Zhoushan city, 5-VIII-2016, leg. Shu-qin Ji and Min Wang. 1 male. CHINA, Zhejiang province, Changgang mountain, Zhoushan city, 3-VIII-2016, leg. Shuqin Ji and Min Wang. 1 male. CHINA, Guizhou province, Fodingshan Nature Reserve, Shiqian county, Tongren city, altitude 617 m, 2-V-2018, leg. Fu-hong Wei ( SCAU) .
Identification notes. Wingspan about 45 mm. Forewing purplish brown, orbicular stigma small, reniform stigma big, both of them purplish brown with greyish yellow edge. Hindwing with a brownish yellow speckle at anal angle, terminal band brownish black, discal spot small and obvious.
Diagnosis. S. subflava can be separated from the other species by the following characters: forewing apex acute, anterior part outwardly protruding; hindwing with a yellow speckle before anal angle, terminal band brownish black, discal spot small.
Distribution. China (Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Hebei, Shandong, Hubei, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Guizhou), Japan, North Korea, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, Malay Peninsula ( Chen 1999).
