Remarks
In Sunamphitoe kanaka sp. nov. as well as S. fantome (Peart in Hughes and Lowry 2009), S. pelagica ( Milne-Edwards 1830) and S. tjibaoui sp. nov. the uropods 1 and 2 rami are similar in form, with rami narrow and lined with a few robust setae, while in S. sineplumosa Kim and Kim, 1991 , S. plumosa Stephensen, 1944 and S. graxon Freewater and Lowry, 1994 the uropods 1 and 2 rami are dissimilar with the outer ramus broad and outer margin lined with robust setae and the inner ramus is very narrow with a few robust setae. Sunamphitoe kanaka sp. nov. and S. fantome have the gnathopod 2 propodus palm extremely acute and undefined along the propodus posterior margin while in S. tjibaoui sp. nov the palm is subacute and defined by a rounded palm corner. In S. kanaka sp. nov. and S. fantome the gnathopod 2 propodus posterior margin is straight, while it is concave in S. pelagica . Sunamphitoe kanaka sp. nov. can be distinguished from S. fantome by the gnathopod 2 propodus posterodistal shelf is subacute, while subquadrate in S. fantome . Sunamphitoe kanaka sp. nov. is superficially similar to Peramphithoe orientalis ( Dana 1853) in the form of the gnathopods 1 and 2 propodus. However, the absence of a mandibular palp distinguished these taxa at the species and generic level.
