Calleida planulata LeConte, 1858b: 59. Type locality not stated. Holotype [by monotypy] (♂) in MCZ [# 34515]. Note. Horn (1882: 140) stated that the specimen upon which LeConte described this species "may have been taken in Mexico or Texas." It was described by LeConte in a paper on new species chiefly collected by the United States and Mexican Boundary Commission.
Callida metallescens Chaudoir, 1873b: 120. Type locality: "Vera-Cruz, Mexique" (original citation. Holotype [by monotypy] (♀) probably in MHNP. Synonymy established with doubt by Horn (1882: 140).
Distribution.
This species ranges from the Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas (Wickham 1897: 111) south to Guatemala and Belize (Bates 1883a: 208, as Calleida metallescens ).
