Type Locality: Peru, Loreto, Santa Cruz (Río Huallaga).

Vernacular Names: Bidentate Yellow-eared Bat.

Distribution: Guianas to Colombia to Peru; N Bolivia; Amazonian Brazil.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Subgenus Vampyriscus . Formerly placed in its own genus ( Vampyriscus ); see Jones and Carter (1976). Reviewed by Lee et al. (2001).
